The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Composers Scheme

Exclusive Sponsor

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra has conceived the Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Composers Scheme to provide a platform for Hong Kong composers to deepen their experience in orchestral writing, and have their works performed by one of Asia’s foremost orchestras in their home city. Four to six selected composers will have the opportunity to present their new orchestral works, each of a three to four minutes, with the HK Phil at a public workshop in February 2019. Each selected composer will receive a bursary of HK$5,000.

An outstanding composer each year will be commissioned to write another short new work for the orchestra and will be premiered in a HK Phil concert.

Selection will be made on the basis of the potential demonstrated and the level of ability in composing a notated piece of contemporary classical orchestral work.
