Hong Kong, 24 April 2006 – The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HKPO) will present 'CIC Investor Services Ltd. proudly sponsors: Broadway Hits in Concert' on 6th and 7th May at the City Hall Concert Hall. Guest conductor Elizabeth Schulze will lead the HKPO and guest artists in classic themes from the world's best-loved musicals. Three celebrated singers from the West End and Broadway theatres will join the Orchestra: Anne Runolfsson (Giudacelli in Phantom), Andrea McArdle (the original 'Annie') and Michael Maguire (Enjolras in Les Miserables).

Highlights of the programme include the music of Harold Arlen (Wizard of the Oz), Frederick Loewe (My Fair Lady), Andrew Lloyd Webber (The Phantom of the Opera), Leonard Bernstein (West Side Story), John Kandor (Cabaret, Chicago), Claude-Michel Schönberg (Les Miserables, Miss Saigon), Charles Strouse (Annie) and numbers from the musical that's entirely made up of ABBA songs (Mamma Mia!).

Elizabeth Schulze is currently the Music Director and Conductor of the Maryland Symphony Orchestra. As a winner of many conducting awards and fellowships, she has worked with such renowned maestros as Seiji Ozawa, Sergiu Comissiona and Leonard Bernstein.

Andrea McArdle is best known as the original "Annie" (both on Broadway and in London), a performance that earned her a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical, in addition to a Theatre World and Outer Critics Circle Award.

Michael Maguire is best known to theatregoers for his portrayal of Enjolras in the original Broadway company of Les Miserables for which he won the Tony Award, Drama Desk Award and Theater World Award.
