[3 November 2009 Hong Kong] Swire Symphony under the Stars – the largest symphonic event in Hong Kong - will take place next Friday. Over 10,000 free tickets went public last Friday and were all gone within two days. What’s more remarkable was that about 3,000 online tickets were claimed within 10 minutes and the demands were so strong that the HKPO server went down temporarily, reflecting the great appreciation of and also interest in the concert which is now in its third year.
Over 15,000 audiences will join the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra in Happy Valley Racecourse Recreation Ground at 7:30pm on 13th November (Friday) to spend a night of wonderful music under the stars. HKPO’s Assistant Conductor Perry So will take the baton and violinist Huang Mengla will be the soloist. Audience with tickets are advised to come early to get the best spots on the grounds to enjoy the exciting program of great classics.
Break the Guinness World Record of the largest harmonica ensemble with the Hong Kong Philharmonic! Every participant will be awarded a free HOHNER harmonica and a Commendation Certificate. For those who have already registered, please bring along with your forms from 5:30pm to 7:30pm for registration. The record breaking attempt will be held during interval of the concert.
