[3 January 2011 – Hong Kong] The Hong Kong Philharmonic Society announces today the appointments of three senior management staff: Mr Richard Truitt as Director of Development, Mr Raff Wilson as Director of Artistic Planning and Mrs Vennie Ho as Director of Administration and Finance. Mr Truitt joins the Society on 3 January 2011, while Mr Wilson and Mrs Ho have commenced work on 20 December and 16 November respectively.
“I am extremely pleased that Richard, Raff and Vennie, each an expert in their own field, will bring to the Hong Kong Philharmonic family their impressive sets of experience, knowledge and skills,” says Mr Y S Liu, Chairman of the Board of Governors. “I am confident that their appointments will help spur the tremendous growth in profile, artistic excellence and levels of private and community support our Orchestra has enjoyed over the last few years.”
Mr Truitt, was Head of Development at the German Swiss International School in Hong Kong for 2 years prior to joining the Orchestra. Before advancing his career in Hong Kong, Richard has been in educational fundraising in the United States for more than 20 years. Throughout his career, he has helped institutions significantly increase the amount of money raised
Mr Wilson has over 10 years’ experience in the Australian orchestral and allied musical industry, including 6 years in the role of Artistic Manager for Australia’s premier and busiest orchestra, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, working closely with Principal Conductor Vladimir Ashkenazy and a comprehensive roster of international artists.
Possessing a wealth of experience in public administration and art administration, with a strong background in the fields of finance and management, Mrs Ho first worked for the HKPO between 1975 and 1994, with the last post as Assistant General Manager (Finance & Administration). Prior to her return, Vennie had worked for the Hong Kong Consumer Council for 12 years as Head of Administration & External Affairs.

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HKPO) is one of Asia’s leading orchestras.
